Salon del Manga report.

Here's my report for Salon del Manga in Barcelona 2014 (^v^)

Taking two airplanes to go there was super painful for me, because I'm really scared of flying. I decided to wear my "WTF" sweater for the occasion (it actually says "what the fudge" beneath).


I arrived at the con after having got up at 4:50 am, so I was pretty much dead for the whole day.

I was able to try Cintiq 22HD at the Wacom booth (*w*) It was awesome, though I tried it with Photoshop and I'm not comfortable drawing there (the Wacom booth is the blue one... I only have this photo *dies* In fact, I hardly have any photo, they were all taken by my sister or my boyfriend).


Then I had 3x1 Renewal signing sessions at the editorial's booth ()! Thank you so much to everyone who came to meet me, you were all so nice (TWT) Miles de gracias a todos, sois geniales


Signing Japanese reading sense comics is hard for me because I'm left-handed and there was no space on the first page to sign, so I had to do it on the cover ( ' - ' ;

They had these nice prints and bookmarks at the nowevolution booth too


While I was signing, the lovely came and gave me this super pretty drawing she made (*W*) Thank you so much! I love it


One of the best parts of my trip was to meet my friends. Spending time with is priceless, I love her to pieces. she's such a cute little thing, and so kind and charming I can never be thankful enough for her friendship.


I also met my friend Caryltis, who was my guild leader back when I played Ragnarok Online. I love meeting him whenever I'm in Barcelona, I wish we could hang out more often! Group photo (Caryltis, my hidden sister, Ero-Pinku, my boyfriend and me).


And mandatory photo shoot in front of the big titan head. I bet everyone who attended the con has one like this *laughs* This time with Ero-Pinku's sister.


I was able to see draw live on a screen. She's so good! I wish I could have stayed for longer to see the whole process.

I saw a girl with a huge white dress in the distance and thought "wow, that looks pretty". When she came closer, it was prettier than I expected... it was Katniss's wedding dress (*A*) She looked GORGEOUS. I wish the light in the hall made it justice, but the photo is not good enough.


The worst part of the trip was checking the stores, full of piracy (seriously, hardly any merchandise was official)... and seeing my art (my commissioned art), used to make headphones OAO


I asked where they had bought their merchandise, and they said only the boss knew. I asked for the boss' phone number (since he wasn't there), and they didn't want to give it to me ( ' - ' ) The woman even said "what proof do I have that the art is yours?"... Well, dear, EVERYTHING you sell is piracy, it doesn't really matter who made it, does it? In the end another girl working there asked me which were the ones I made, she took them off the public display and apologized.

I think it's super disappointing that most of what you could find at the con were either stolen fanarts or stolen original art. The worst part is they don't even sell piracy cheap, everything was quite expensive ;;;;

here are some of the things I got! There was such high quality at the fan zone this year (*-*) I'm happy to be able to buy things from them directly.

"El Diario de Chiharu" is the manga that won the "best Spanish manga " prize this year. I still haven't read it, but it got very good critics and I'm sure the prize is more than deserved!


I also got "Mi Querido Vecino" by Desiree. She was there and signed it for me I have to say Desiree is such a lovely and funny person, I loved listening to her stories. It's the kind of cheerful person who knows how to make you smile and laugh, I loved meeting her


I also got and 's manga signed by Ero-Pinku, and she even drew me a pic (TWT) So nice... I wish I had that talent. I would have liked to draw pics for people, but it would have taken me long and I'm really bad at drawing when people are looking (aside from the fact I'm used to digital tools and I'm left-handed, so drawing there would have been a pain).


I met for the first time! She's super adorable and kind and talented and much, much better than me that I was overwhelmed by her kindness (TwT) I bought a print from her which I already have stuck to my wall I'm not even into Free, but she has the kind of modern anime style I absolutely adore and I want it there for inspiration (it's over my computer screen).

I bought Ero-Pinku 's super cute straps and she gave me a bunch of presents (TwT) Her cards are AWESOME. They have these lovely sparkle effects... and her sketchbook is super pretty! Well, she calls them sketches, but they're nicely finished pics for me *laughs* It has Attack on Titan, Free! and original pics.

I bought the Imaginoterapia artbook from Inari. It's very pretty, and the funds are for a benefical cause (^^)

I got a Fay cosplay bookmark, but I don't know who made it OTL I don't think you can see it in my small photo, but his eye is bleeding (*-*) It's so cool.

Kagura-Kurosaki gave me her Free! badge pack as a present, so nice (TWT) You can have a closer look here: ETERNAL SUMMER

I got Ai-wa 's Free! strap because it's super pretty (he has different clothes on each side), and she gave me the small version as well as a present (I'm so spoiled *laughs*).

I also bought a badge with this pic: Red and Yellow from 's booth. she's super talented and paints with such lovely colors (*A*) Check her gallery out if you haven't, it's totally worth it.

I bought an Elsa badge for my friend Luleiya too, but again I can't remember who made it OTL;;;;

Seeing so many talented artists selling their stuff made me miss selling my own... I'd like to have my own booth there some year, but we'll see ( ' ^ ' ) I'd also like to go to Japan Expo again, but it's more expensive, so I don't know yet. Well, time will tell!
