Silent Manga Audition awards

The results for the Silent Manga Audition awards came out today, and I'm supper happy to announce I'm one of the grand prix runner ups (I'm 4th).

There is an important story behind my entry that I would like to tell.

Sometime after my mom passed away, I thought I wanted to draw something and dedicate it to her. I thought of this story, exactly as it is, and remembered about the Silent Manga Audition contest because it would fit well, having no dialogues and all. My only problem was that I didn't know what theme the next contest would have, so I was nervous I wouldn't be able to make it fit in any way (if theme was, for example, memories, it would fit, but if it was, say, the animal world, I wouldn't have known what to do).

Then finally the theme was announced... and it was "mother".

That's when I decided that no matter what it took or how little time I had, this comic was something I had to draw.

That's why I feel not just happy, but absolutely grateful and accomplished to have had such a great result.

PS: another reason why I'm happy is because my beloved and won the third position. You rock, girls! I'm so proud.
